Samurai Cop by Amir Shervan is a masterpiece of unintentional '90s trash cinema. Discover why this film is a must-see for trash movie lovers and unintentional laughter.

The Pearl of Trash

Get ready for a journey into a world of cinema so bad it's good. Directed by Amir Shervan in 1991, Samurai Cop is a film you can't afford to miss if you love trash. Imagine a B-grade cop movie with absurd dialogues, terrible acting, and action scenes so poorly done that they become hilarious. That's Samurai Cop.

Joe Marshall, the protagonist, is a martial arts expert cop trained in Japan, transferred to Los Angeles to fight a Japanese gang called Katana. So far, it sounds like a normal action movie, but the reality is far different. Shervan's direction is a disaster, with scenes shot illogically and dialogues that seem written by someone who just learned English. The result? A film that makes you laugh more than a comedy.

A Plot of Absurdities

In Samurai Cop, nothing goes as it should. The acting is so terrible it feels like a parody, with the main actor, Matt Hannon, often forgetting his lines or looking directly into the camera. The fight scenes are a chaotic dance of senseless movements, probably choreographed on the spot. The film changes tone and lighting for no apparent reason, making each scene look like a collage of clips from different movies.

But the real highlight is the dialogues. Lines like "Have you ever made love ferociously?" or "I'll cut off your head and shit down your neck" are just a taste of the gems this film offers. Every line seems designed to make you laugh, even though it clearly wasn't the original intent.

A Mix of Clichés and Confusion

The story follows Joe Marshall and his partner, Frank Washington, on their mission to stop the Katana gang. The villains are a parody of themselves, with a Japanese boss played by an American actor who doesn't speak a word of Japanese. The plot is full of holes and inconsistencies, but that's what makes it so fun. Don't expect twists or narrative depth: this film is a triumph of nonsense.

A Trash Masterpiece

As a cinephile, you must approach Samurai Cop with the right spirit. Don't expect cinematic quality or coherent storytelling. This film is an experience, a dive into the absurd that will make you laugh from start to finish. The photography is amateurish, the costumes look like they were picked up at a flea market, and the cinematic rendering is at an all-time low. But that's what makes it unmissable.

A must-see taste!

If you want a visual taste, here's a clip. Watch now and be amazed!

Why I Recommend It

I recommend it because it's a film so bad it's brilliant. Its human flaws, from terrible acting to absurd dialogues, make it a unique and fun experience.

Why I Don't Recommend It

I don't recommend it because if you're looking for a film with a coherent plot and good acting, this isn't for you. Its human flaws make it hard to take seriously.
