"Troll 2" by Claudio Fragasso is the best worst movie ever made. An epic of vegetarian goblins and absurd dialogues you have to see to believe.

An irresistible trash masterpiece

Welcome to the parallel universe of "Troll 2," a film so horrible it’s extraordinarily fascinating. Claudio Fragasso, the genius behind this wonder, gives us a cinematic experience that defies all logic. Don’t be fooled by the title: there are no trolls here, only vegetarian goblins determined to turn humans into plants so they can eat them. The absurdity of the plot is surpassed only by the grotesque acting and surreal dialogues. If you think this is already strange enough, brace yourself for more surprises.

A journey into the surreal

Fragasso, with the help of his wife Rossella Drudi, wrote a screenplay that could make a science fiction novel written by a grade schooler look pale. The production was an adventure in itself: filmed in Utah, the movie featured a cast of local actors with no acting experience, guided by a director who barely spoke English. The result? A series of hilarious scenes that seem straight out of a psychedelic nightmare.

Among the memorable moments is the famous scene where the father of the protagonist yells with fervor, "You can't piss on hospitality!" George Hardy, the dentist turned actor, delivered one of the most incomprehensibly passionate performances in cinematic history.

A vegetable nightmare

The story follows the Waits family, who decide to swap homes with a family in a small town called Nilbog (hint: read it backward). They soon discover that the townsfolk are actually vegetarian goblins using a magic potion to turn humans into plants. Young Joshua, guided by the spirit of his deceased grandfather, tries to save his family from a crispy green fate. The film's climax reaches unimaginable levels of absurdity, with special effects worthy of an episode of "Art Attack."

The beauty of bad

"Troll 2" is a work that goes beyond mere entertainment. It’s a lesson in how not to make a film, and for this very reason, it has become a cult classic. The narrative is chaotic, the cinematography mediocre, and the costumes ridiculous, but all this contributes to its unmatched charm. It's a cinematic experience that defies conventions, a hymn to incompetence that becomes art. Watching "Troll 2" is like witnessing a train wreck in slow motion: you can't look away.

Perché te lo consiglio

I recommend it because it’s a unique experience that will make you appreciate bad movies in a new way. Its absurdity will make you laugh and reflect on human flaws depicted in a grotesque manner.

Perché non te lo consiglio

I don’t recommend it because if you’re looking for a movie with a coherent plot and decent acting, you might be disappointed. Its technical and narrative quality is so low that it’s a deterrent for those who don’t love trash.

An unmissable taste!

If you want a visual sample, here's a clip. Watch it now and prepare to be amazed!
